Please help - How to create 3D puff/foam print effect for hoodie mockup

I'n starting a clothing brand and see no resources on how to turn text/logos/vectors on a hoodie mockup into a "foam print" or "3D puff screenprint" style (basically lifted text). I'm trying to create hoodie samples (I know how psd mockups work) to show customers the 3D foam/puff screenprint text that will be on the hoodie. Examples:

Will either of these work:

Character > Show options > height/width of text

or Effect > Plucker & Bloat??

How? Do I do this in AI or PS?

Would the effect not matter because hoodie mockups are "flat" and so a puffed logo wouldn't show?

Please help. I'd be super thankful.

Inflate from the new 3D and Materials should give the puff effect, but for textures you need Photoshop.

Sounds good. I'll try that! Thanks Ton.

If you have Illustrator 2022, this should be possible with the 3D and Materials effects.

You will have to get a photoshop of a hoodie elsewhere of course. Illustrator can only bulge the text.

Okay, I'll see how that goes. Thanks Monika!

Hi

You need to post your query on either the Photoshop ecosystem or the Illustrator forum or both, I can move this thread for you if you let me know which one you want it moved to

Yes, that'd be helpful! Please move to both forums (Illustrator, Photoshop) if possible. I'm interested in gathering as much feedback/ideas as I can.

Thanks alot, Ged.

I think moving is not a good idea, better is that you ask the same question on the Photoshop forum too (maybe link to your post here).
