PNG image Relocated while reopening the file

Yes, I tried using File > Place to insert the PNG files, and it's working perfectly.

However, we've been working in Illustrator for the last 8 to 10 years, primarily using drag and drop to place images. Interestingly, in my recent interactions with the Adobe team, they introduced me to the File > Place method, which was new to me.

That said, the exact issue with drag and drop remains unresolved. I’ve been facing this issue for the past six months, I believe. Has there been any recent update affecting this behavior? Or is File > Place now the recommended method moving forward?
