Good morning folks. For those who celebrate, Happy Thanksgiving! My existing PC is aging. It works ok for my needs, but it rather slow when I have to render my 3D drawings in Illustrator. I want to up my game and upgrade Illustrator to something a ittle more current.
I've used a 10 year old versionof Illustrator to draft up stickers for vintage Alfa Romeos. The version of Illustrator I've been using has suited my needs.
I'm now branching into something new, drawing vintage Coleman Lanterns to put on the side of coffee mugs. My PC can't really keep up wth the demands of the software,
I'm not a graphic artist. I only do this for the challenge of figuring out how to use the software and provide a decent representation of the lanterns. Learning and doing helps to keep my mind sharp, er less dull.

I'm looking at HP Z workstations (Z4 G4 or Z4 G5) becasue I feel these can do the job. I'll be looking at used and new. Things have changed so much since my last purchase and I find it a bit overwhelming. I realize I can go to the Adobe website and get a list of recommended hardware. I am looking for recommendations from those who might use these workstatiions for graphc artestry. My primary interest is in:
RAM - how much?
GPU - Which one
Thank you.

@OssodiSeppia because of AI (artificial intelligence) technology, the more RAM the better. I have 16 Gigs of RAM, and with how AI is moving so quickly and and getting better, I would at least get 36 gigs of RAM. My next upgrade will be a MAcBook Pro at 128 gigs of RAM. I usually keep my gear for at least 10 years, and the one I am using was the top-of-the-line in 2013, so, it's nearing almost 12 years now! I recently changed the battery for the first time ever!
With GPU, anything with a NVIDIA! Such as 40 series: RTX 4090/4080/4070 Ti
Good Luck

Thanks for the reply. I've already rolled the dice and bought the workstation. It's new to me with W11 Pro Workstation, 128GB RAM and and NVIDIA RTX 4000.. I've only had it up for 24 hours, so I've not had a chance to really work with Illustrator.
I'm currently tied up mourning the loss of my old PC and my HP Mediasmart Server that won't work with W11. I like redundancy so am looking at options for the MSS.
Thanks again for the recommendation!
