Good Morning! I am trying to get a repeat pattern design printed on fabric; it was pretty blurry when we did a sample. The manufacturer suggested increasing the step size and repeating art in the art file. So, instead of each piece of art being .25” in size, we make them .75 or 1”. Does anyone know how to do this?

Fabric cannot have very detailed artwork. Can you perhaps show the design in Illustrator and the printed result?

That should be pretty much what you can get when printing on fabric. Increasing the size of the design elements could help you with a better quality, but I assume you want them small.

Yeah, the person who is printing the fabric said the quality might get better if I increase the step size and repeat art in the art file, but I am not even sure how to go about trying that.

They can't just print it larger?
How does the file look that you sent to them?

I am unable to attach the original AI file, but the PNG version is above.

Is that an Illustrator pattern or just the shapes?
Easiest would be to scale it 200%. That should work.

I believe in shapes; the original file was 8x8, and then I turned it into a pattern. When you mean scale it by 200%, how do you do that?
