Hi
I cant get my head round saving files in the right way for the right format.
I recently created a logo in cmyk, saved it as each format (eps/svg/png/pdf)
and the only one which remains the exact colour profile is the pdf.
More confusing is that even though the image is created as cmyk when I open all
the formats again they open in RGB colour mode. Ii I change, save and re open it
does the same thing.
Does thisactually matter? I am concerned that they file wont be correct when
sent for printing.
thank you

SVG and PNG can't be in CMYK color mode. They will always be RGB.
As for the others: are you sure about your workflow?
How do you check the color mode?

To Monika's point. SVG and PNG are files that are saved for web or screen viewing. When you are looking at a monitor, it displays in red, blue and green light waves, thus RGB mode is necessary.
CMYK is based on ink. Therefore, if something needs printed you'll need to supply it in a file format meant for printing, not for screen/web.

This is not necessarily the case for both formats. Both are used in printing as well.
But the file formats simply don't support CMYK color mode in their current state.

EPS supports CMYK, but not colour management. So of the four formats, only PDF can be expected to show CMYK accurately on screen.

Monika,
Thank you for mentioning that both can be used for printing, but I was referring to traditional offset (litho) printing. SVG and PNG are not the formats that logos should be supplied in for traditional inks.
