Saving any file taking forever

Community Beginner ,
May 15, 2022 May 15, 2022

This started recently and I don't know why or how but everytime I go to save a file, doesn't matter how big or small the file is, the little % progesss sign next to the file name will go from like 32% to 57% back down to 32% then up to 78% drop back down to 12% (not actually the exact numbers) it will sit there and go up and down for several minutes before saving my file completely and it will happen on a brand new file with a simple square drawn on it and nothing else, it takes forever to close illustrator and shut my computer off at night ( we're talking a good solid 5 mins to save one file ) does anyone know why this is happening and what I need to do in order to fix the problem ?
To add the issue happens when I save to my desktop not my cloud

Hello @shawnam60472704,

Sorry to hear about this experience. Are you on a Windows computer or a Mac?

It could be possible that the Desktop folder is also being backed up via iCloud/Onedrive. Could you check these articles and check if they are set up:

For macOS:

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT206985

For Windows:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/back-up-your-documents-pictures-and-desktop-folders-with-...

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks,

Anubhav

Hi. Do you get that issue only when you save your files on your desktop? What happens if you save the file on a different local folder?
