Hi Adobe people, first time poster, loooong time user.
When working on .ai files and saving to my Apple  iCloud, the files are automatically saving duplicates. It will automatically add 2-3-4-5 etc at the end of the file name. So annoying. I got off the phone with Apple and they said everything is A-okay on their end and they can't speak to a 3rd party Abobe App.
has anyone had this? It does it with both my current & older version of illustrator.
Thanks in advance for everyone's help.

To get personal help (maybe someone needs to take a closer look), contact https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html

There have been several instances of Illustrator not cooperating too well with iCloud. You can try if some of the settings in Preferences > File handling and clipboard affect this (save in background could be interfering)

Thank you. I also found that in some forums but it hasn't remedied anything 😞
