Hi,

If I create a box with the Type Tool or the Rectangle Tool and type text in it, I can select the rectangle only without the type with the Direct Selection Tool (by clicking on the border of the rectangle). In the Layers Panel, this shows a square in the Selection Column but the Target Column shows a single ring.

Is it possible to make the same selection via the Layers panel?

This is for CS4.

Thanks.
