Select > Same option all grayed out

Hi, can someone help me fix this issue that I'm currently facing? The Select > Same option is all grayed out, and I'm not sure how that happened. Thank you for the response.

Some people have solved that by uninstalling/reinstalling.

Iwould first try:

reboot the computer

reset the Illustrator preferences

Also, please share your Illustrator version and operating system details. Try manually resetting Illustrator preferences and then test if the issue continues.
