Selection Buggy in AI 2023

Selection tools have been really buggy ever since update. I will click and drag to select an area and in the middle of the drag it will deselect, or at the end of the drag when I let go it will show all the points and then deselect anyway. I will have to drag multiple times over the same area in order for it to finally select that area. It is extremely frustrating, I have never had this issue in the past. Please let me know if there is a fix for this, my husband is having the same issues (he works on PC, I'm on MAC.)

 

I also noticed that when trying to select text areas to move them they will sometimes change my selection tool to the type tool, this is probably an unrelated issue but I would also like it to stay on the selection tool when moving type like it used to in the past.

    A handful of my coworkers and I are also having this issue with the most recent update with no solution as of yet (tried restarting, updating, resetting, snap on and off, ect). Let me know if there's anything else we could be doing!

      Hi, that's what I did but they couldn't help me. I could barely get on with a human (not AI chatbot) and when I did they 'hung up' on me. Still having this issue in 2025.
