shapes stuck on perspective

Hi, new to Illustrator CC. all shapes are being drawn on what seems to be a perspective. How do i draw them flat, and not on an angle.?

And in case it's the perspective grid:

You need to turn it off in View > Perspective Grid > Hide grid

if you open up Edit > preferences > general, what does the Constrain Angle say?
