Smooth tool popup right in the middle of the page whenever toggled.

Everytime I toggle the Smooth tool, a popup comes up right in the middle of the page for, I dunno, Smooth tool options or whatever, along with options on how to use it at the top of the page. I am turning it on with a custom key shortcut, which I set to "S."

 

I've been using the Smooth tool for forever and don't need instructions, and the popup comes up right in the middle where I'm working. Turning off contextual task bar doesn't help.

 

I am running Adobe Illustrator v. 28.6. When I opened it this morning, it updated, and now this horrible popup for the Smooth tool has been driving me crazy for the past hour. Please let me know if there is something I can do to turn it off.

      I agree, this new HUD feature is supper annoying! Please give an option to turn it off.

      hey bro. i'm almost crazy with that pop up. but maybe this can be the solution. try putting the pop up on the right side of the artboard. i've tried it, and it doesn't go back to the center. GOOD LUCK

          I always use blob brush when drawing. When I want to zoom in/out (alt), that damn pop up always appears. And when I accidentally swipe that pop up, my illustrator hangs (can't close or do anything else). I feel annoyed because now I can't work fast.

              Any news here? I hate the pop up too, haven't found a way to get rid of it so far.

                Chiming in to say FIX THIS ADOBE! I use the smooth tool constantly in my work and this stupid pop up is CONSTANTLY getting in my way. Makes me want to put a fist through my screen.

                  I just experienced this for the first time and immediately came here to figure out how to turn it off. How can I not turn this off?!? Absolutely ridiculous. I NEVER WANT POP UPS IN ANY ADOBE PRODUCT. It feels like they are trying to make the desktop version of Illustrator feel like the iPad version. However, I don't need sliders right next to my finger in desktop. It actually is in the way here. You must remove this or atleast give all users a way to toggle this to never show up again.

                      Apologies for any inconvenience this new HUD feature may have caused. While tool operations will continue to function as before, the selection state of anchors will now update based on the impacted area of the tool operation.

                        So an obnoxious popup right in the center of your work area that you can't turn off and always opens back up in the center even after you move it is considered a feature?  Wow.  That's ridiculous.

                          I agree. I'm having to use the pen tool constantly right now and it's incredibly irritating that it just pops up directly over the object I'm trying to smooth out, I'm tired of having to move it all the time. There really should be a way to disable this.

                              I have the same issue.  I'm working on a critical deadline and this stupid popup will not go away.  If you move it, it keeps opening back up in center screen.  Glad it's not just me dealing with this.
