Hello, I have a problem with too big spacing after an apostrophe, do you have a solution for this?
it doesn't work, it's ok I found another apostrophe, it will be fine.
Thank you very much!

Does that happen with all fonts?
What is shown when you turn on the hidden characters?
Can you show a screenshot?

Can you show all the formatting? Character and paragraph formatting?
I assume that you reboot the computer regularly?

I found another type of apostrophe in the glyphs with which I have no spacing problems. Do you know how to replace the basic apostrophe with this new one in the font I am using?

Can you do it via Find/Change?

I've just encountered the same issue and it occurs on all fonts. When I preview a font in the menu the kerning is ok but when I go to the actual text box it has a large space between the apostrophe and the next character. If I use a standard, straight glyph it's ok, but an actual apostrophe leaves a huge gap. See screenshot below. The straight glyph is a workaround but is not correct grammatically and the problem also occurs on speech marks, both open and closed, so @johannabntl 's fix is not correct - it's just a workaround.
Running 29.4 on Mac Mini M1 2020.

Can you share a sample Illustrator file with that issue?

Ironically, this system won't allow me to attach the Illustrator file to this post because, "the content type doesn't match the extension". Go figure.
It appears to be the settings in the file as when I create a new document I can't recreate the spacing issue. Also, if I create a new document and retype the words with no spacing issues, I can then paste that text block back into the file with the error and the block appears correctly. It might be worth me mentioning that the original supplied file if from a Japanese client who is probably running a Japanese version of Illustrator.

Make sure the East Asian Type options are turned on in the application preferences.
Then select the text objects, go to the Paragraph panel and set the Mojikumi Set to "None".

Awesome. Thank you @Kurt Gold - that did the trick! First time in 20 years working with the Japanese that I've had to do that! Thanks once again. Very helpful.

You're welcome.
For what it's worth, in case you want to retain the GyomatsuYakumonoHankaku paragraph setting for some reason, you can also just select the apostrophe and change the right Aki setting in the Character panel to "None" (instead of "Auto").

Thanks. I'll see how I get on. Normally, I receive files from Japan and convert to western formats and never have to make any setting adjustments but it's good to have the preferences switched on in case I need it for future projects.
