Strange Illustrator temp files created upon save

I've recently set up a new Mac server and I'm having an issue where Illustrator creates duplicate files when saving. They have a strange prefix similar a temp file, but have an .ai suffix and when I try to delete I get the 'file in use' error message.

I tried restarting the server, files still there and still cant delete them.

Anyone had a similar issue?

Running Illustrator version 27.01 on a 2021 Macbook Pro in Monterey. Server is running Mojave.

Would you mind checking under system safe mode (Mac/ Windows) and seeing if Illustrator is still creating these temp files? Also, try saving your Illustrator file locally on your desktop, and let us know if the issue persists.

Please also confirm the Illustrator & OS version and system details (CPU, RAM, GPU, etc.).
