Hello, I have the following problem, for some reason the color palette and colors in my document changes and put opaque while I'm working, I have checked the color options and the profile settings and there is no change at all, certainly the document is not in CMYK, but it looks like I've changed it. I'm not 100% sure but I think the problem arises when I save the document, maybe I press a key combination by mistake, I don´t know, but ruins my work because there is no way to reverse it, and the colors look horrible. Has this happened to anyone?

Sorry, I am not exactly sure what you are asking. You are saying that you are trying to work with transparencies and they appear opaque on the artboard? If I am understanding you correctly, does this happen in every file or just a particular one?

Hi, no I'm not trying to work with transparencies, maybe I use the wrong term, when I say opaque I mean washed out as if the colors were CMYK, but the color mode is in RGB, even the default RGB color swatches look different, but I repeat, my document is still in RGB.
Basically my problem is that while I'm working for some reason the appearance of the colors changes and I can't find a way to reverse it
I hope this example serves to give an idea
The first is the original and I copied it in another document for reference. The second is the one that was changed in the document in which I was working, and that happened to all the colors, (at the beginning it looks the same as the first, there is no error or message to copy and paste in another color profile, everything is in RGB) the problem is that the change I don't notice it immediately until I want to use the colors and I realize the problem.
I know, it sounds weird but it's real and it happens to me often!!

Is this a web graphic? Have you printed a proof? I wonder if it is a preview problem? Have you setup "ask when Opening" or similar in Color Settings? Also, what is your Rendering Intent set to in Color Settings?

Hi thank's for asking
Is this a web graphic?
Yes, is ment for web, social media pubs. if it is what you mean
Have you printed a proof?
No needed
I wonder if it is a preview problem?
No
Have you setup "ask when Opening" or similar in Color Settings?
Neither, I haven't moved any value from the document, at least intentionally
Also, what is your Rendering Intent set to in Color Settings?
Since it's not intended to print haven't moved any value

What is the mode in the Color panel? Is it RGB?

yep, when I see that the colors look strange I check the settings but nothing has moved, nor color mode, profile settings or assign profile.
All RGB but the colors

BTW: this is pretty close to the Protanopia preview.

Hi, tnx for your interest
probably, but I don't need to do any proof setup, so I don't move that option and it remains intact in the file, also in pronatopia the colors change drastically and in this case the colors look dull but you can notice that it is orange or red, only that they look washed out.

You should contact a local expert who can check your file, your color settings and your workflow. I don't think that this can be solved on a forum.

Mmmm ok, thnx Monica still I'm not the only one with this problem, in this post at least 3 people have had the same problem or similar.
My color palette looks the same as in the posts example and just like the other link that I previously added.

Can you give a screenshot of your swarches panel?
Looking at your Color Settings, these are not Default.
If you are creating graphics for Web, Adobe RGB is not a good choice, sRGB would be better
Your RGB policy is set to "Convert to Working Space", the default is "Preserve Embedded Profiles"
And you turned of warnings for Profile Mismatches and Missing Profiles.

Hi Ton,
I don´t have a capture of my panel because I fixed the colors to their original state, but the examples I have uploaded look the same to my problem.
It's correct Adobe RGB is not the best, but that's how it appeared to me from the beginning.
I already changed the color settings to their "default" value, what I don't understand is, what this would've to do with the fact that the colors change their appearance, but the color settings of the document remain intact? and most important why there's no way to reverse it?
Thnx.
these are the values that i had before
that's how I have them now changed

If colors from a different working space get converted (like the Policy in your first settings), the numbers can stay the same, but the color changes.
Here is an example of the same numbers, different working spaces and different colors.

Yes, but aomeone needs to have a look inside your system, your file, your illustrator settings, your colormanagement and the way you use all of those.

What do you see as document profile when colors go wrong?

There is no change at all, just the colors in the file, the document profile remains the same, the swatches palette is in RGB but the colors look like they are in CMYK.
I suspect that the problem is with a keyboard shortcut sequence, maybe I press an extra key by mistake, but I use so many and there are so many that it is impossible for me to figure out which one is causing this problem.
But although I change profile and look for color profile options nothing reverses the colors as they were.

I would not know a keyboard shortcut that changes volor mode or assigns another profile.
Are you using the most recent version of Illustrator?
23.0.1

Is this happening with every document or just the one? Definitely not a keyboard shortcut that would account for this.

Sometimes yes and sometimes not, and honestly I don't know what it depends, I´d been working on this file for about 4 months and hadn't given me problems.
if I open another document I can work normally, the color profile and the color swatches look normal, the problem happens while I work, but there is no error message or warnings, it is very subtle and it happens suddenly. Copying and pasting the vectors into another file does not fix the colors

It sounds like there is something inherent in that file that went wrong and carries through if you take the assets into another file. I have no clue what it could be, but if the file is limited to what you have shown onscreen, it might be worthwhile to rebuild from scratch, although I have the feeling that if you have been working on it for 4 months it is a lot more extensive. Sorry I can't help here.

I am not sure if time is a factor, I have opened old files and I have no problems, and I have my doubts if the file is the problem, because it has happened to other files but it happens while I work, so it has to be something related to program, some action, some error when saving, I do not know, in any way thanks for the comments and I will continue searching, if I find a solution I will be posting it.

Me neither, as far as I know, the changes to the color profile have to be through the menu, but I can't find any other explanation.
And unfontunately I don't, I'm using the 2014 (18.1.1) version U know, old computer, by the way it's a Mac

There was a version that could change color mode without warning when you used CC library objects.
That has been fixed.
When strange things happen, resetting preferences or re-installing sometimes help.

Reinstall has not solved the problem, I installed from scratch at other times and at some point the same thing happens, it doesn't happen with all the files but as I said previously at some point it happens for no apparent reason. I've been working with this version for a while because it's the one that supports my computer, I've dealt with the CC 2015 version but it gets stuck, maybe it's time to renew.
Thanks for the comments and I'll keep looking
