Hello @mikek53457459,

I'm sorry to hear about your experience. Could you share more details, like the version of the OS installed and if Illustrator is not showing specific/all system fonts, so we can better assist you?

Also try the suggestions shared in this help article (https://adobe.ly/3JY3XEZ) and share your observations.

Looking forward to hearing from you.
Anubhav

Hi @mikek53457459,

Thanks for the update. Since rolling back worked for you, it does look like the problem is tied to Illustrator 29.8.1 on Windows 11. Could you try updating again and then reset the font cache using the steps(in the link) Anubhav shared earlier? It would also be very helpful if you could grab a screenshot of how the fonts appear in the previous version and then another one after updating for comparison. Please also confirm if this happens with all system fonts or just certain ones not showing up.

Looking forward to your update.

Abhishek

Hi Abishek, thanks for the reply, Im not going to update to 29.8.1 again until the bugs are fixed, to much time wasted, I tried the updated beta version and the same problem with fonts - only recent fonts show up in the character panel, local fonts show up as 0, see attached, will resetting the font cache cause major disruption? I need the fonts to work properly every day?

Hi @mikek53457459,

Thanks for sharing the update and the screenshot. Resetting the font cache will not delete your fonts or cause disruption to your system, it just clears the stored cache so Illustrator and other apps can rebuild it fresh. This often helps when fonts don't appear correctly. If possible, please give it a try and let me know if the system fonts show up afterward.

Looking forward to your update.

Abhishek

Hi Abhishek,

Thanks for the reply, I have deleted the fontcache numerous times to no avail, local fonts dont appear in the Character Panel window , only recently used! Im convinced this a bug with the latest update to Illustrator  (and Beta) it still works fine in the older version of illustrator, let me know if you have any other ideas, thanks, Mike

Hi @mikek53457459,

Thanks for confirming the details. Could you also check if the fonts show up in other apps, like Word or other Creative Cloud apps such as InDesign or Photoshop? It would also help to try launching Illustrator from a fresh Windows user profile, and testing in Safe Mode to rule out any third-party apps that might be interfering (steps here: https://adobe.ly/4nlVeLy).

If the issue continues, a clean reinstall of Illustrator 29.8.1 using the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool may help in case something got stuck during the update.

Looking forward to your update.

Abhishek
