Hello,
I'm relatively new to Illustrator but I do understand all the basics of the tools, layers etc as I am somewhat proficient with Photoshop and Indesign. I've downloaded a few flyer template files off of adobe stock only to realize that the fonts in these documents have all been converted into vectors. As far as I can tell the text is un-editable in this form. Is there anyway to convert it back into regular text frames or am I forced to delete what's there and source my own fonts.
It seems to me that a template that can't be edited doesn't make much sense, so I feel like I'm missing something here.
Thanks for the help!
You cannot convert an outlined fot back to the original font.
You need to recreate the text.

You'd need to delete what's there. I think in most cases the creators of these templates don't include live text because of legal issues that would arise from having to supply fonts to users.

Fonts can't be provided so they have to be outlined, but I think It should be required on these templates that the fonts used are named, so the whoever buys the template can easily find and purchase them if they want to closely duplicate the look.

Agreed, that would be a good compromise

One cool trick for determining what font is being used in a particular situation is that I have been using recently is the Adobe Capture mobile app. In the app, you can take a photo of a font and the app recognizes the font or similar ones available via Adobe Typekit. Good Luck!
