Temporarily Disable Snapping, and Mouse/Center click Panning

New Here ,

Good morning all, I'm muddling through learning Illustrator and am wondering if there's an option to temporarily disable Snapping, either through a programmed shortcut/action, or by a hotkey I don't know about. I work heavily with GIS and CAD programs during the day; they're suprisingly similar to illustrator, and both have an option to pan by holding the center mouse button and dragging, like a smart device. With GIS particularly, a user can temporarily disable snapping by holding down the spacebar. It's a huge time saver. Does anyone have a workaround?  Thanks!
