The Text to Vector fuction is completely missing from my ai. I am taking a course where using this tool is necessary to complete a project and I am unable to complete this task due to this issue. How do I gain access to the AI tools in Illustrator?
For reference, there is no sign of this feature in my properties panel or in the window drop down. I have the most up to date version and the full creative cloud plan subscription..
Please go to "About Illustrator" and tell us your version number.
In 28.6 in the Properties panel there should be "Generate Vectors (Beta)" when a document is open and no object selected.
Hello @marissac9621428,
Thanks for confirming the version. The new Generative AI features in Illustrator are only available for Illustrator 2024 (v28.0) or later. Kindly update the app to the latest version (https://adobe.ly/3XuVhZP) and let us know how it goes.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Thanks,
Anubhav

I'm not sure if the version number is something other than 28.6, but that is the only number I am seeing when I go to the About Illustrator pop up. I updated my computer and did notice a new tool available on the Contextual Task Bar as suggested below, however there is still no Generate Vector option in the Properties panel that I can locate, and there is no sign on it in the Window drop down as specified in my course. It seems to work correctly for what I need from the Task Bar, so for now I have access (enough) to the tool to complete what I need.. just not in all the places that it should be? Here are some images for context if you have any other ideas on what might be the issue. Could very well be user error!
Thanks for the help!

Can you turn on the Contextual taskbar (in the View menu), then draw a rectangle and then start to generate vectors via the contextual taskbar?

My version is 29.7 and is missing the function too, and I can't continue with the Illustrator online class as the result.

Hi,
Thank you for your response. I'm in Australia and I applied for Illustrator on a 7-day free trial just on 1st Aug and the pay period will kick in on the 8th Aug. Is that what caused the problem?

The trial should include generative AI features. So they aren't even in the menus? The File menu or the Object menu?

Hi @Nat_Felvus1066,
Thanks for sharing those details. As the expert suggested, the 7-day trial should give you access to the Generative AI features, so the 'Text to Vector' option should still appear in either the File menu under 'Generate Vectors' or in the Object menu when nothing is selected in your document. Could you please open a new document, ensure nothing is selected, and check both menus to see if the option shows up? Also, confirm if you're signed in with the same Adobe ID that your trial is linked to and if you're connected to the internet, as these features require an active sign-in and connection.
Let me know what you find.
Abhishek

Same thing! Missing on my side as well though I am using AI version 29.0.1
Text to vector is not mentioned in Properties, and there is no such a function in contextual menu. Object/pattern/generate pattern function is missing as well.
Any ideas how the text to vector feature may be unlocked?
