The stoke for the pen tool is too thick a 1pt!

I am trying to draw something, but the problem I am having is the pen tool stroke at 1pt is way too big, help?

Check your options bar, you may have a brush style to stroke applied.

Remove brush stroke.

You can change the units of measure from the Preferences panel. You can also change the units of measure by right-clicking on the ruler on the left and top of your page.

1 point and 1 inch very different sizes.
