TIFF file placed in illustrator glitch

So I initially had these two images placed on my artboard, that were JPEG's. I made TIFF versions of these files and relinked them. As I relinked them and updated, the image all of sudden has no background and the focused subject is the only thing showing on my image. This is a regular photo saved as a TIFF file and I never edited the background out of it. I don't understand why this is happening?

It may have a clipping path. Reopen in Photoshop and check the Paths panel.

Thank you so much! It was definitely that. I'm working on images that had been edited from a previous designer, and I would have never known about the clipping path being the reason. Thanks again!
