Transform Panel Units stuck at Points

Hi,

Is there any way to stop the Transform Panel from defaulting to pt in AI CC 2015?

Even when I've set the application Preferences to cm it still keeps giving me dimensions for selected object in pt.

I can enter a value in cm (eg- 211.38cm) and hit Enter and I my object transforms to the right dimensions but the Transform panel immediately reverts to using pt to describe the objects dimensions.

Is it that the Transform panel is somehow stuck in the 1980s and doesn't believe we should be allowed to see object dimensions in anything but pt?

Never mind- you have to close your work and restart the application for the changes to Preferences (or most of them at least!) to take effect. Great.

Or Ctrl click the intersection of the rulers to switch between units for the current document.

No restart needed.

oh well I might have guessed that!
Thanks Ton.

Wonder why the other way (Preferences > Units) requires a restart?

I think it is more defined by the Document profile you start with (or the unit you choose) when creating a new document.

The same problem here, even when restarting the application and my computer the problem remains.

See above, units are defined by the new document profile. Only when you open a document that has no units, like an image or a pdf, the unit in the Preferences is used.
