Hello everyone,
Turntable is now live in Illustrator Beta (build 29.9.14 or later)!
Turntable lets you “rotate” your 2D artwork to see it from different angles. If you’ve got a character, product, or object drawn in Illustrator, you can quickly generate front/side/back views without redrawing everything from scratch.
Note: This is still Beta quality. Some of the tech behind it is pretty challenging, so expect rough edges here and there. But that’s why we’re bringing it to you early.
Explore this fun feature and speak to us to be a part of the feature's future! Block time with us using the link provided below.
|
Install the Beta → Open the Creative Cloud Desktop app → look under “Beta apps” → install Illustrator (Beta).

Quick Tip: |
Clean outlines + no backgrounds = best results. We’d love to hear what you think, what feels magical, what feels broken, and what you’d want next. Don’t hold back, we’re here for the candid stuff. |

Would be great with a feature to add a reference, for example if you already have the 90 degree angle of what the subject is , you can tell it to use it as a reference for that angle.

This looks amazing and perfect for one aspect pf my work, creating isometric views of large ag and construction equipment. Really anxious to give this a "spin"! Thanks to the excellent developers that pulled this together!

I would love to see an option to initially add different angles of the artworks to the turntable to make it more accurate.
Most designers using photoshop and illustrator to create quick 2-D characters for say adobe character animator can knock out front side and back drawings respectively.
We know that AI can generate full 3-D models from several 2-D images it would be great to also have the ability to directly render and export a complete 3-D .FBX model in illustrator from the work that turntable is doing.
These are the type of AI tools users want time savers and better program function and results from their own work.
The ability of AI to generate patterns and textures needs to work better, tiled patterns and textures have always been repeating junk. AI should be able to generate a brain texture pattern that is unique across the entire selected shape layer with no issues. Instead I am getting tiny brains with eyes smiling at me.
I should be able to just ask AI to complete tasks with my artwork layers. Things like symmetrically complete my drawing or duplicate my actions across all selected layers, match this angle point to that layers angle point, simple fast time savers that do not require much AI calulation to complete.
AI could help with sketches first you select the different parts and name them, then you can tell AI what you want each part to look like and within minutes your sketch is now a 1st draft ready to be editied and built up and completed.
AI Less generative and more helpfull like an asisstant.
Thx,
J3D
