Type with effect around a radius path... still no solution ;-(

I have some copy that has effects on that creates a 'Tab'. I cant work out how to put this type on a 32mm radius?? I can make type go around a 32mm circle but the effects dont work??

Your initial one can be built as a graphic style that works in general no matter how long the text. This cannot work for type on path. You have another thread in which we proposed your options. Did those not work for you?

I could not get anything to work, or I wasnt sure what the instructions meant. I've done a lot of reading online and trying solutions but im still stuck ;-( I just can cant make it go round a 32mm circle! I have about 60 of these tabs to make - if I can make it work for 1 then I will be able to create all the others.

If the goal is to have a live effect like the one in your download: impossible.

The only thing you can do, is make a brush for each of the however many designs you need and apply it to the circle. I've made a video for you. Did that not work? https://youtu.be/cn0hbiKX5nM

The end result isnt what I need, I need to type and the text flows round the path as I type - with the blue and grey parts. Your version had just the one colour and it didnt have the round corners so the end result isnt right ;-(

I thought you would be able to add the round corners and the other color. 

As I said: it's not possible to get this as a live effect. It just will not work to have this while you type.

Hi, please correct me if I'm misunderstanding your goal here. 

You have some copy with appearances, and those appearances need to render when you paste that copy into a circle? 
I'm not sure that exact process is possible. The shape you apply the Type on Path tool to will always lose fill and stroke, and any appearances applied to that shape will not render either. You will have to create a duplicate shape in the style you desire as a layer beneath the type.

Actually it is very possible. Select your path with the direct selection tool, and your appearances will apply to your shape directly, and not the type.

Thanks but thats not going to work - thats just a circle with 2 bands. Its not a 'tab' with round edges like I need ;-(
