unable to export as png, unknown error message

I've been trying to do some work and when i finally finished and went to export my image as a png i get the error message "the operation can not complete because of an unknown error [!now]" I can export as a jpg fine, this is only when i try to export as a png which is the file i mostly use.

I would think that this is the cause of your issue.

Even if JPEG can be exported that doesn't mean PNG will be as well.

I Thing You Are Using 300 ppi Try Use 150 ppi & Export Again.

I have a mac computer os sierra version 10.12.6

adobe illustrator cc 2018 22.1 i believe

image size 7632x6480 pixels

trying to export to a local folder on my system

File-Expot as- png-hi resolution, art optimized, transparent background

It may be  the complexity of your file but I don't have a proble exporting that size to PNG (Export for Screens or Export As...)

Try from file> export> save for web, then choose PNG 24.
