Unable to modify stroke attributes for elements with a group

I am trying to set up a lenticular mask in Photoshop. Because I need each lenticule to be exactly 1/10 of an inch, I am using Illustrator to make my template that I will import into Photoshop as a multicolor image that I can then separate all 10 colors to make a lenticular mask.

I create a box that is 11 inch by .1 inches no stroke solid black.

I duplicate the box horizontally every 1 inch for 8+ inches

I group all of these boxes as they will represent the mask for 1 image (out of 10)

I then duplicate the group exactly .1 inches and modify the fill color

I repeat this 8 more times to create a page of stripes that are each .1 inch wide and repeat every 1 inch.

I select all and copy

In photoshop I paste as a smart object and accept the default parameters.

I transform the image to position it at 0,0 for upper left-hand corner.

Next, I rasterize the smart object

I then select each color stripe and create a new layer to apply the mask for each color stripe.

after importing 10 images and applying the ten masks, I notice a small 1px diffused border between stripes.

I was very careful not to apply any sort of anti-aliasing and yet I am still getting a 1 pixel antialiased line between stripes. This sucks.

---------------

Now the problem:

I go back to Illustrator with the intent of solving this issue.

I open the group and select the first stripe. I get the properties of the stripe in the appearance panel so I could easily adjust the stroke to be 50% of the color of the main stripe, but I don't want to do all 600 stripes this way.

Common sense says that inside of a group, you should be able to select all and if all of the elements have the same properties (fill and stroke) that should appear in the appearance panel-making it easy to change.

Instead, it shows "GROUP" in the appearance panel with no stroke or fill attributes.

Is this a bug or just a poor decision on Adobe's part?

When I have all of the elements inside of a group selected, it is still only a selection of elements. It's not until I exit the group or select group again that I actually have a group and therefore group attributes.

I have gone through and selected all but one of the stripes in every group, then applied my changes and then selected the last stripe to apply changes separately. But every time I do this, I run the risk of modifying the position of the element--it's just not a good idea. I need to be able to select all of the individual elements in the group and apply changes to their identical attributes without modifying the group as a whole.

Any ideas?

You get the anti-aliasing because you are not working in pixels. When preparing artwork for Photoshop, you should be carefult that you do not specify partial pixels and that the artwork snaps to the pixel.

A .1 inch line is 7.2 px wide...

Your second problem:

You could have set up the stripes as symbols. That way they are easy to change.

Or you could have made a single stripe and use the Appearance Panel Transform effect to duplicate it.
