Unknown format error while opening file

It is in an unknown format and cannot be opened. There's an error message. What should I do?

Where is it stored?

Where did you get it from?

sometimes, unknow format for files error because somebody rename the file and he romved the extention

for example  File.ai  or .pdf  or .JPEG or .Psd

if you know this file from where it come, if you know it is a logo for example try to rename and put .ai or .svg

you have to know the source aoolication that the file come from.
