We have a problem with the Move panel.

We're missing something in the Object-Transform-Move panel, and I don't know if it would be difficult to add it. This option has been available in Corel Draw since very early versions, but Illustrator consistently misses it. You can see the sample panel attached. I'd love to hear your thoughts.

When moving an object by a certain amount, then it doesn't matter what this is set to. If you want to move your object to a certain coordinate, use the transform panel. It also has the registration point symbol.

You may use the Transform effect (see Effect menu) to create multiple copies, possibly followed by expanding the appearance in the Object menu.
