Weird black squares appearing out of nowhere ??

Was saving and closing out of illustrator when these black things appeared all over the top of my workspace, I didn't draw them and have now clue what the h happened. Anyone know what's going on and what this is ?

Try if View > Preview on CPU solves this (or turning off the GPU acceleration altogether in the preferences.

It could also mean that your graphics card is on its way out.

Well let's hope but it's a brand new laptop with a nvidia GeForce graphics card.

I agree with Peter. Sounds like the video card is not up to the task.
