Why can I see the path but not the element itself in illustrator?

I've ported over an SVG from figma and some of the elements don't show but I can see a path of an outline where the element used to be. 

I've tried to move the layer above all others and still nothing is revealed. Can anyone tell me why I'm seeing both a layer and path but not the element itself?
