Working Space Gone Wonky

Well this is a new one for me.  Anyone familiar with this kind of screen, what it's called, how I get my regular artboard view back?  I've never seen this kind of view in Illustrator before, and now the program seems to insist on opening with it for me.

That's the transparency gid and the video rulers.

You might want to take a closer look at the View menu

Ah, that's definitely part of it.  Thank you!  I didn't even realize that Illustrator had those kinds of video markings.  This is bizarre.  I haven't found the whole of it yet, but you did help me find those two parts.  I have no idea why all this stuff is suddenly defaulting to be on.  If I restart the program it all sets to all of it on all over again.

It came with your document. When you set up a Film&Video document, you will get these.

I'm not opening a document.  I'm getting all this on "Create new"

That's what I meant.

There are the categories in "NEw document"

One of them is Film & Video. And that's the one with the transparency grid and the video rulers.

I have never selected Film and Video in Illustrator.  It does appear now that I can open old set ups and they don't have the new settings.  But is there a way that I can reset my preferences to open without adding in video settings when I start a new custom project?

Just click on any of those before you choose your settings. Make sure to click on Print when you need a CMYK document

No need to apologize.  I appreciate the outside insight.  As strangely as it started acting up, my copy of Illustrator seems to have reverted back to the way it was working before.  And for the interim I just kept selecting recent work that didn't open that way to start from.  I do think that it was pushing preset settings on me.  Not having used that preset before, I really appreciate y'all helping me realize that was even what was happening.
