Zoom to Selected is Useless

The director that ok'd the zoom to selected in Illustrator should be flogged.  SOMEone should be held accountable!

Ok, seriously, not advocating any violence, but this feature is incredibly frustrating and useless.

Understand your frustration. Am disappointed and shocked that during testing this was allowed to pass.

Disable Illustrator cc 2017 zoom to selection?

The good news is the next update should have a feature to disable.

CMD - CMD + : Zoom to center screen as in Previous versions – Adobe Illustrator Feedback

In summary use CC2015 or

Command K >> GPU Performance >> turn off animated zoom. This may give you some relief depending on exactly what your issue was. (read the first post for more info)

I do not feel the feature is useless, can be nice when needed. But should be an option with an entirely new key command, and you should be able to marquee zoom and center on your marquee.

I don't consider it as "useless". It can be pretty useful in many situations.

Nonetheless, an option to turn it on or off is desirable (to me: urgently required).

Providentia may know if such an option will be introduced soon, or not.
