Eraser tool in Illustrator iPad doesn't work as Desktop version

Friends,

I'm looking for help with the ipad illustrator tool.  It doesn't seem to work properly for me.  *See attached picture.  I assumed it would work like, well, an eraser.  I assumed it could be just like in Procreate or similar.  But I get extra bubbles and extrusions and odd things.  Also, is there a way to have the pencil or pen tool act as an eraser?  Meaning: you can add a line and then make it erase or become transparent?  I also searched for tutorials on this but didn't see any.  Thank you!

Yes, exactly.  That's why I wrote the question.  Any ideas on how to somehow get it to work like an actual eraser?

Bummer.  I could always just transfer the file to the desktop and go from there, I suppose, correct?

Hi David,

You are right! The document from iPad syncs automatically to the desktop, so you can use the desktop Ai to use these features.

I'd also request that if you could take out a moment and post this as a feature request here: https://illustrator.uservoice.com/. This way you will keep getting all the updates related to this feature & other users can also upvote, which would help us prioritize.

Regards,

Srishti
