Hi! Im using illustrator for ipad for the first time. Cant for the life of me figure out how to add a hyperlink! Can someone please help me?
- when I click 'link' on the right hand control panel the options below are greyed out and not clickable.

You can't even create proper hyperlinks in the desktop version. It's not possible in the iPad version.

The Links panel is for images that you place into your Illustrator for iPad document, but it's not what you are looking for.
If you need to make hyperlinks, you can do that in either Adobe InDesign (then export to PDF) or in Adobe Acrobat DC.

I am in the same situation there is no way to create proper hyperlinks currently in the iPad version 3.0.6
i see the function available but there is nothing navigatble beyond the link name.
Ridiculously frustrating.
I believe the only way is to work around it to export the illustrator file as a PDF. or open doc in Adobe Indesign

Where do you see Hyperlinks in either Illustrator for iPad or Illustrator for desktop?

You cannot create hyperlinks on the iPad. But in the desktop version it is possible using the Attributes panel.
