Illustrator start page cut off

I teach a class of 24 kids using Illustrator on the Ipad, one of the has had this issue where Illustrator will cut off the buttons on the start page, and it is unable to be used. He has creative cloud, and is signed in on it, he can use lightroom no problem. He updated his ipad, uninstalled creative cloud and illustator and still has the same issue. I have no idea how to solve this problem

Is there a prefs reset on the iPad version? If there is try that...

I of course have to wait 2 days to see the kid again. But I will send an email, maybe he will try it. Only one I have ever seen like this.
