I need to export vector based artworks in PNG format with specific dpi and pixel dimensions for Launcher app icons.

I have attached the instructions that are online and supplied by my client, but when I export at these specific dpi's the dimensions change (become larger).

The requirements are:

PNG files.

120 dpi - 36 x 36 px

160dpi - 48 x 48 px

240 dpi - 72 x 72 px

320 dpi - 96 x 96 px

480 dpi - 144 x 144 px

640 dpi - 192 x 192 px

I have noticed similar questions posted but I can't find a solution.

Any suggestions what to do?

i don't think those are dpi requirements, but simply information about the dpi of the respective screens. creating the icons at the specified pixel sizes should be sufficient.

Not sure what you are asking. Simply seems to me that you are a) totally forgetting AI's native document DPI setting and b) misinterpreting the device screen DPI as having any relevance when it doesn't. You know, pixels are pixels. There's no reason why you should get caught up on anything else.

Would you suggest we just create the artboards to the correct pixel dimensions and export them at 72dpi?

Why have they given instructions for specific dpi's?
