Illustrator crashes when I try to move an object with the selection tool

The problem occurs in a new or existing document. I have tried all the solutions I can think of.

1. Reinstalled AI

2. Deleted the prefernces. This worked temporarily, and inevitably AI crashes and the problem reoccurs.

3. Disabled my wireless mouse.

I have a similar problem in InDesign. However, InDesign won't crash.

This is a serious flaw, and its driving me nuts. The only thing I can think is that my software is bad, or Illustrator CS6 is very unstable.

Any one have a different work around besides what I mentioned above?

Hey all - This is Laurel from Pushbullet.

We ran into the same issue, and were able to solve the problem on our systems just by restarting.

Many of our users that have emailed in have found that disabling Universal Copy & Paste solves the problem for them.

Something in the way that Chrome manages the copy / paste feature seems to be throwing some people's Adobe programs for a loop.

Sorry about all this. Definitely let us know what works and what doesn't.

I found out that my problem was the Evernote application, causing the same type of problems as PushBullet apparently ...

Never had this issue before. Now it crashes all the time. As is, AI (19.1.0) is useless at the moment.

Is it possible to uninstall the latest update on AI? Sure didn't have this issue on the previous version (19.0.0)!

Running on a Mac with OS X 10.10.5

I can't believe this actually worked. I've been trying to solve this issue for months. Thank you so much!

Help! I am not very tech-savvy, and Illustator cc has been crashing for months every time I attempt to move an object. I did something at one point that very briefly fixed it, but it came back almost immediately. Illustrator is unusable for me at this point. I don't use Pushbullet. I can paste the crash report, but it is extraordinarily long...

Post the crashlog to something like Pastebin and provide a link here.

Hi Larry,

Thank you so much for responding!

Here is a link to the crash report from the other night: KR Illustrator CC Crash Report - Pastebin.com

I ended up uninstalling my Wacom driver files, disabling all of my extensions in Chrome, and doing various other things that I can't remember at the moment. Whatever I did has resulted in Illustrator CC working again (following a restart). It is still working, although I tried so many things in frustration without restarting after each action that I can't pinpoint what worked.

I will try downloading the latest Wacom Intuos Pro driver in a little while and see what happens.

I really appreciate your help. Thank you so much!

I've had this problem for 4 months.  I have tried everything in this thread.  I have deleted preferences and caches and rebooted.  I have disabled all  Chrome extensions and rebooted.  I have completely uninstalled Illustrator and InDesign and reinstalled them and it's still happening Illustrator and InDesign is completely unuseable.  Mac Pro mid 2010 Yosemite 10.10.3 happened on CS6 CC2014 and CC2015.  It did not happen on CS5.  I don't know what else to do.

Also, I do not have Pushbullet, and I have never heard of it.

This is not a Pushbutton problem (exclusively) because I am having the same issue & have never heard of Pushbutton prior to this thread. I am working with a Macbook Pro 2.4 GHz Intel Core i5, late 2013. Tried every troubleshoot listed here to no effect. It is very troubling that I cannot even perform the most basic of tasks in Illustrator CC.

Ok i'v got it :-) thank god and thanks to the nicest Indian guy from Adobe support.

So any way its all about Chrome Extensions.

For me it was an extension i have installed yesterday called "Pushbullet".

After removing it and restarting my Mac Book Pro problem solved.

Good luck you all.

goodbyepepper:

Disabling Universal Copy&Paste has worked for me so far as well. Thanks, and keep up the good work. Really bad luck with this Chrome thing, cause Pushbullet truly is a fantastic extension.

Yes, this is purely a Pushbullet problem. Deactivate that and the whole problem goes away. Thank you Matt_Pixel. I've just spent two days wrestling with this and illustrator crashing constantly. Constant re-installs and lost work. I've emailed the developer of PushBullet about this also.

If you have it - turn it off immediately!
