Illustrator not loading full Artboard and moving objects without permission

Hello,

Recently I have noticed that Illustrator CC 2017 has been only partially showing all the text and images on my artboard while I am working. When I hover over the disappeared area, you can see a blue line where there was text. When I zoom in and out a couple times it seems to reappear. I have also noticed that when this happens, and the image or text reloads, it is not always where I originally placed it. Sometimes it is a pixel off and sometimes its 5 to 6 pixels off. This is very frustrating seeing how I work in web design and every pixel needs to be perfect.

The first image shows how it has been loading and the second image shows what it should look like.

(It is also worth to note that I work on a Mac and my OS is 10.12.5 Sierra. I have a 3GHz Intel Core I7 processor, 16GB of memory, and my graphics is Intel Iris 1536 MB. I have been using illustrator for years on this computer and I have never had this problem in the past.)

  • Restart your computer if you have not done so recently. Let us know of any recently installed plug ins or updates that affect your OS or Illustrator.
  • Try Command E to toggle the GPU preview. Look at the top your window to see if GPU preview is on or off.

THANKYOU so much for posting your OS and screenshot examples. The majority of the posts forget to do that , so I hope we find a solution for you soon.

Thanks for your advice MikeGondek! I have tried restarting my computer in the past and it only seems to slightly prolong this problem from happening. Toggling on and off GPU preview seems to also be a temporary fix (everything appears but 15 minutes later it seems to disappear again).

Even when I reopen illustrator to continue to work on a project, the second I zoom in all my work disappears on the artboards I am not using. This feels like a loading problem that could be either software or hardware related. Troubling if it is my computer since I have used Adobe applications on it for a while without a problem, but maybe I need to up my computer memory.

This seems to be a display issue since GPU preview probably fixes this immediately. When this comes back do you still have GPU preview off?

Can we see your graphics card model here. I like animated zoom off because this new zoom to selection is quite annoying and that helps.

How old and is your intel iris on the list here
