Layout and Display Issues in Adobe InCopy

Hello, I am encountering layout and display issues in Adobe InCopy that seem to be unique to my installation. When I open certain chapters or sections of documents, the layout appears messy, and the text does not display correctly. Strangely, my colleagues, who are using the same fonts, and documents, are not experiencing these problems. In addition, it just happened for no reason because I had been working smoothly the last few weeks ago.

I have taken the following steps to address the issue without success:

  • Reinstall the program
  • Restart PC

I have attached screenshots illustrating the issue for your reference.

- Picture 1 is what my friends seen

- Picutre 2 is mine (you will see the layout in paragraph and infographic are messy and unstructured)

Thank you very much for your time and assistance. I appreciate your prompt attention to this matter. If you require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Try opening the INDD file instead of the ICMA file.

Thank you for your reply, but my team only has only ICMA file as we are the context reviewers. We don't have access to the InDesign program 😞

- Incopy is in 19.2 version
- I'm using Windows (window 10)

p.s. I have attempted to delete all cache files and reset InCopy's settings to default, but I still encountered failure. Additionally, I compared my settings and preferences with my colleague's and found one difference. It's regarding the COPYFIT bar indicator at the bottom. My colleague's bar is green and displays 'COPYFIT', whereas mine is red and shows 'OVER XX Line'. Therefore, I assume that my settings might be incorrect, even though I've already set them to default, which should have resolved the issue, but sadly, it did not.

For more example, regarding the infographic, my colleagues are able to see three bullets, whereas I only see one or two bullets. However, if I 'check out' and reduce the font size, I am then able to see three bullets as well. The issue is that all of my colleagues (who have the same settings as me) can see three bullets without needing to reduce the font size

It sounds to me like you don't have the proper fonts installed but it's hard to say without more screenshots at the same zoom level.
