If you could let us know what version of InDesign you're using, whether you're using it onb a Mac or Windows system, and if possible, what thge error ID code is with your error reporting box, we might be able to help you further.
Right now, we don't have the information to do anything except make wild guesses about your issue. Please help us help you by giving us more information about your issues.
The most common error of this type being reported at this time is with InDesign version 18.5 being used on a Mac with Ventura operating system. If this is your problem you should update your Ventura to the latest version (13.6). This has helped many users.
I don't know what version of InDesign 2023 is unaffected. If InDesign 2022 is good enough for you: Install InDesign v17.4. That is the only version of InDesign 2022 that will work. Nothing newer, nothing older.
