Trying to get rid of Text Frame Borders - all frames have "0" for Stroke - changed the STROKE panel to "zero" as Default - how can I get rid of the black borders?

Hi,

Seeing the Strokes panel, when the frame is selected, it does not look like a table cell(unless its a text frame inside a table cell!)

Maybe there is something on the master page?

Are you talking about real borders or just the on screen frames?

If the frames are already on the page, you need to select them first with the Selection tool (the black arrow) individually (or shift+click to select multiple frames) and then either choose 0 from the Weight menu, or [None] from the Stroke menu.

Yes... I've done all this ... still the border ... when you say "WEIGHT MENU" -- is there a separate menu besides the ones you just showed me at top?  If so, where?  Appreciate this quick response!

There is a second one in Window > Stroke. Would mind selecting a frame with a border, open the Stroke panel and then share a screen shot? You can use this button to add it.

I don't see a printable black border on the selected frame. I just see the frame edge, as per Bob's response. If don't want to see them—unless the frame is selected—choose View > Extras > Hide Frame Edges. This is a non-printing visual aid to help you see where the frames are. You also have Text Threads visible, you can turn them off in the same menu. Personally, I keep the visual aids on while working.

Now I do see paragraph borders under workshop. If you are actually asking about those, let me know. They are controlled separately from frame borders.

I'm thinking you must mean the paragraph borders, if so, click in a paragraph with a border:

  1. Window > Type & Tables > Paragraph
  2. Paragraph panel menu > Borders & Shading
  3. Uncheck Border, OK
  4. If using styles, redefine the style. If not, repeat for each bordered paragraph

I did click no shading, no border -- but am still getting the border line -- see this other jpg. My 2018 Indesign does not look like yours -- is there another section I should be doing this in?

Let's back up for just a moment.

You original question said "black borders". With the frame edges turned off, I can now see a thin black border at the right, left and bottom of the text frame.

Is that what you are trying to remove or is it the blue borders around "Advanced Conservation...".

If the black border, then I gave you the correct answer first, if the border was on the frame. Is that text inside a table, by any chance?

YES... black border around Text Frame -- I've done everything you said, but still (as you can see) have the black border.
