Hello,
I have an indesign document with multiple pages and I would like to save an A4 PDF with 4 indesign pages (69x94mm) in one single PDF file.
Does anyone knows how to do it (automatically)?
I've tried from PRINT, and multiple pages to print in one document, but I can't save that as PDF.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!

As long as all your pages are in the same InDesign document, this should be pretty straight forward. File > Export >Give your document a name > Save - Then this dialog box pops up. Make sure "All" is selected. and click okay. This will save all your pages into one document.
Let us know if you are still having problems.

I believe the OP wants all 4 smaller pages on one page, not in one file.
That is not something that can be done automatically. Export the PDF, create a new InDesign A4 file and then place the PDF there.

Yes, exactly! One single page. I wrote it wrong.

Or skip the first export and place the InDesign file itself in a larger file.

I was avoiding doing it manually because I have 100 pages in Indesign...
Thanks again!

What you can do is "Print to PDF" and select Thumbnails and 2x2. Just did a test and it works great. It does add page numbers and a dropshadow to the pages, but at least you get the 4-up you were looking for.

Why I don't have that option?
Did you download any specific plug-in or similar?

MS Office installs a "Print to PDF" driver.

I would strongly caution against that. We don’t know what the OP is going to do with these PDFs or the contents of the files.
Instead, I’d visit the scripting forum and ask there or check the Acrobat forum for advice on combining these pages.

Bob, is the OP referring to me? It is for working purposes.
First time in a forum and don't know yet how this works.
Could you please send a link to that Acrobat forum or scripting forum?
Thanks!
And thanks again to Dax

OP=Original Poster so yes, it's you.
Please back up and tell us exactly what you need to do and why. That will give us the info we need to give you the best advice.
I will give you one piece of advice if it's to be printed. You can export all of the files you need as PDF and then from Acrobat combine them. When you print, choose Multiple.

Thank you for clarifying.
I am trying to print a PDF. Indesign file has 100 pages, and I want to print 4 pages in one PDF page (the indesign pages are very small so they fit about 4-6 pages in one A4).
First thing I I've tried was exactly your suggestion: to print multiple in one, but that doesn't work from my computer.
In our company if I want to print I need to send an email to the company's printing system with the document, then go to the printer (big Canon printing machine), use my personal printing card to login and select the project, then print.
Not straight from my computer/ Indesign.
So that step doesn't work well for me.
Best would be if I could save a PDF instead of printing, as Dax suggested in the preview image.
Unluckily for my I don't have that drive/ plugin/ whatever the name it is for that, so I can't save the PDF in the same way he has showed in that image.
Any clue on how to get that to my Indesign? I work with Mac.
Thanks again!

As Bob's suggested if you are using these or this method as a way of imposing the pages later for print or print production, you definitely do not wanna do it this way.
If you are doing this to simply create some kind of thumbnail proof or some kind of Mini version for review that saves paper, then this method is just fine. You just need to install Microsoft office in order to get that print driver. But I'm sure there are some scripts somewhere around that will do the same thing if you hunt for them.

I would send the full 100 pg PDF to the print shop and instruct them to print it 4-up using Acrobat.
If you’re doing it yourself, use Acrobat.

Bob pretty sure that the OP is printing this for themselves and not trying to do in house imposition.Sent via the Samsung Galaxy S9, an AT&T 5G Evolution capable smartphone

Bob, we will send that PDF to the print house when it is ready for print proof. Right now I only want to have a regular print to detect possible errors on the text/ design and similar before we go to huge print production.
Thanks Dax, I'll try that from a computer that has Microsoft Office.
Thanks to both of you!

Thank you for your answer Dax, but what I want is similar to what it shows in the image below, but straight from Indesign.
So when exporting the PDF (or then in acrobat), put those 4 pages (69x94mm) in one PDF (A4).
Thanks again!
