Accessibility Tagging Issue in PDF from InDesign CC 2025

Community Beginner ,

While generating an accessible PDF from InDesign CC 2025, the tag name does not appear as per the mapping in the paragraph styles Export Tag option, Instead only the InDesign paragraph style name is shown.

I have attached a screenshot for your reference. Please advise on how to resolve this issue.

Create Tagged PDF: Make sure to check the Create Tagged PDF option. This ensures that the PDF will include the necessary tags for accessibility.

I currently don't have a 2025 ID, but my 2024 ID works well. Can someone help me with this?

Thanks,

That's more than I'm getting out of exporting pdfs with the "create tagged pdf" selected! I'm getting pdfs with NO tags at all. I unchecked it and exported - correctly had no tags, re-checked it and exported also comes out with no tags.

I exported a correctly tagged pdf from this same document a few weeks ago before updating Indesign 20 to Indesign 20.1 and nothing significant has changed in the document since. Opened the document in Indesign 2022 (only other version I have installed right now) this morning and exported pdf from there and everything is perfect. Tried it in 20.1 again after that, and once again no tags included.

Just wanted to update that after some more troubleshooting I determined my issue was limited to that parcticular file when open in 2025, and any save as from it (.idml also had the issue). I could open and export it propperly from Id 2022, but wanted to keep digging: the only way I was eventually able to resolve it was to copy and paste everything in-place in a new clean document page by page and moving forward with that.
