Acrobat Showing incorrect

Community Beginner ,

Hi Everybody,

I recently sent a design to a client and the eps background did not show up on their version of Acrobat?

The eps. background was placed into inDesign and then exported to a pdf. What do you think?

All of my apps are up-to-date and I'm workinf on a Mac.

Which version of Acrobat is your client running? Which version are you running?

I think it's the most up-to-date version, see below:

On second thoughts, could it be that I exported as an interactive pdf? I wanted to keep the colours RGB you see but maybe it's not displaying the eps. in older versions?

I have moved this to the InDesign forum. This is the better place to find an answer.

First off, EPS is an archaic format and you'd be far better off with AI but that shouldn't be the issue here. Export as a print PDF using PDF/X-4 standard. That will leave the colors unchanged.

Hi Bob,

Thanks for getting back to me. I've tried the PDF/X-4 standard export but the colours are showing in CMYK in the pdf.

Any thoughts?

I'm guessing you are looking at the colors using output preview and you've got a CMYK profile chosen rather than RGB...

Hi Peter,

How do I rectify this?

there's nothing to rectify, really. If you set the profile in the output preview to the same profile you used to create the file you should see the same numbers.

If they're RGB in the InDesign file they're going to be RGB in the PDF when exporting as X4.

All of the colours I've used inDesign are RGB but it defaults to CMYK after exporting as X4

See X4 vs. Interactive pdf:

I don't do interactive, but for print PDFs the color does change as you change the output intent...

Be sure your output intent is set to sRGB or whatever you used in InDesign.
