Added blank pages when printing booklet

I am working on a book that has 114 pages. I have two files. One is titled "a" and the other "b". The "b" file was the first file I created. It has 114 pages with 58 spreads. File "a" is the second file that was created and also has 114 pages with 58 spreads. I created file "a" to re-place images that turned out exceptionally blurry when I printed file "b". In file "a" I also reordered some of the images and then edited the contents page numbers to reflect the reordering that occured. When I initially printed file "b" 12 blank pages were added, so instead I added 12 photo pages, 6 extra spreads. So file "b" was initially 102 pages and 52 spreads. When I go to file > print booklet > booklet type set to 2-up perfect bound > signature size 16 > preview, I have no extra pages added. File "a" is file "b" edited. When file "a" is open I go to file  file > print booklet > booklet type set to 2-up perfect bound > signature size 16 > preview I have 15 blank pages added at thed end of the booklet. I am confused as to why this is happening and how to resolve it. Any help would be appreciated.

I had the same issue, finally found the problem, the booklet in indesign must be saved with the correct printer you are using. I open the preview from my pdf booklet and then command P, chose the printer again you are using.

The issue here was the number of pages in the file and the signature size.

It looks like in the second screen shot you have a blank page at 109, and I'm guessing you must have had some blank pages in the first file that are not visible in the screen capture.

You must tick the include blank pages box in the Print Booklet dialog or InDesign will ignore them and add new blank pages at the end of the booklet to make up the page count requirement.

That box has been ticked. I also have a white box in the center of the blank page.

I think what it is - print blank printer spreads here

And then go to the Print Settings and Print Blank Pages there too

But if that's not working I'd like to see the file itself.

Your book page numbers need to be divisible by 4

114/4 = 28.5

You need 116 pages or 112 pages

You had the same problem with 102 pages that's 25.5

For book printing - a sheet of paper is folded in half - for simplicity - and when you do this you have 4 pages.

112 pages still adds one blank page.

And what is most frustrating is that the dummy that I made of the book with scrap paper, penciling in all the pages, everything aligned fine. I have printed and bound many books before, mostly printed using a letterpress or manually ordering the pages into separate pdf files for each signature that I then printed one at time. I had hoped InDesign would have streamlined the process for me.
