Adding/Insterting a page

I have written about 10 books (print) and several online presentations (web) and have never had the problem I'm having now.

I have a document set up with NO FACING PAGES.  Whether I set it up as a printed document or a web document, the same thing happens.

When I try to insert a page it addes the page like it would for a facing page (beside the page), but I don't want that...I want it to show up as the next page (underneath the page).  All other pages set out correctly when I started the document; however, this anomoly happens when ever I try to add a page.

I must be missing something in my set up, but I've done this so many times before without this problem.  Is there something in these newer releases that I'm not aware of?

Any ideas for me?

Wee Jacky.

In the Pages Panel - go to the sub menu in the top right and ensure Allow Document Pages to Shuffle are ticked, there should be 2 of them to select.

Ensure your Parent Pages are setup with 1 page only.

If you started your document as a Facing Page document, and later changed it, the Parent Pages will still show 2 side by side - you need to remove 1 of them.

Thanks for your quick response, Eugene.  One of the items you mentioned fixed my problem.  It was the SHUFFLE setup in the PAGE menu (upper RH corner).  I had 'spread' checked, but not 'pages'.  Your note that said 'there should be two of them' was the key.

All my other setting aligned with your recomendations.  I thought I knew a lot about InDesign....well, now I know even more!

Once again, much apprechiated.

Wee Jacky.
