Adding selected text to CC library?

Is there documentation on how to store a selection to a CC library and then retrieve it?

So from a scripting POV CC Libraries are worthless...

Is there a way to add text to a regular library directly? Instead of:

1) select text

2) copy to text frame

3) store text frame in library

then in new document

1) retrieve text frame

2) copy contents

3) insert in new document
