How can i activate the duplication shortcut in InDesign cc 2020

If you look under the Edit menu, you will see both the Duplicate, and also, Step and Repeat commands, and their respective key commands beside. Shift-Option-Command-D for Duplicate (Mac), for instance

when working on a quick project i most prefer using shortcuts but they are
failing to wrkout

Perhaps there's a conflict with another key command sequence on your computer outside of InDesign.
