its me or sometimes the Adobe help webpage content is obsolete ?
below an example:

I mean, if I choose Show Parent Items from the Pages panel menu, hiddein objects doesnt show

Hidden objects are different.

 

Put an item on the Parent Page - like page numbers. 

Then go to the  pages in your document.

Then you can use

It's a way to hide the Parent Pages without having to add blank pages etc. 

For specific pages or spreads.

You're right Eugene, I had noticed but by now I had posted...
However, the phrase "the parent item may be hidden on a lower layer or the parent items may be hidden." it's a bit ambiguous...
