Adobe Indesign and Windows Creators Update Problem

Since the Windows Creators update, I can open Adobe Indesign (Adobe Creative Cloud) but I cannot work on any of the files. I can't create text boxes; when I click on a menu, it flashes up and disappears immediately. Is anybody else having this problem?

Please look at the posting at Problems in Windows 10 Creators Update with Fonts Installed via “Shortcut”!

If you have installed the Windows 10 Creators Update, the side effects of this particular bug may be the cause of your problems. This thread shows the temporary fix from Microsoft.

Let us know if that helps you out!

I have exactly the same problem and I have to finish my document within three weeks!

Changing preferences did not produce the solution. My only solution is to roll back the Windows version, which gives me time to finish the publication I was working on; but since Creators will be 're-foisted' on me, the problem remains.

Once I've got this publication off to print, I'll try doing a fresh install but, in the meantime, if somebody can come up with a solution that works, please do post it here.

Was this machine originally a Windows 7 machine?

Yes, it was originally a Windows 7 machine. Is that an issue?

At the moment, I'm still running my machine on a rolled back Windows 10 version, so my Indesign works; and as far as possible, if Windows Creators reloads, I'll roll back again. In any case, WC slowed my machine down to irritation-causing mode so I'll try to avoid it as long as possible.
